Matt Singer is the editor and critic at ScreenCrush and a member of the New York Film Critics Circle. He is the author of numerous books, including Marvel’s Spider-Man: From Amazing to Spectacular - The Definitive Comic Art Collection. For five years, he hosted IFC News on the Independent Film Channel, and won a Webby Award for his work on IFC.com. You also might have seen him on shows and documentaries like CBS Saturday Mornings, James Cameron’s Story of Science Fiction, Indie Sex, TruInside, and Ebert Presents at the Movies. He is the former host of the IFC News Podcast and Filmspotting: Streaming Video Unit, and has appeared on dozens of other podcasts and radio shows talking about films, comics, and disturbing foods inspired by movies.

Matt, seen here in his natural habitat (a karaoke bar), lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two daughters. His next book, due in 2026, is about the “Frat Pack” era of Hollywood comedies.
